the word trisymphony is composed of "tris", which is short for triangle, the most essential shape in 3d realtime design, and "symphony", which links to my musical education. "tris" means also "three", and refers to the three areas i am active in, music, 3d development, and web design.

i hope you enjoy your visit. if you want to hire me, ask me to join your project or simply get in touch with me, the contact form on "about" is the way to go.

news and thoughts

so this has been my first year as an academist - Aug 07 2010

so this has been my first year as an academist of the RSB. i still can't guess why they would possibly keep me around for a second year after all the crap i have played, and i don't fail to notice that although i am practising this stuff possibly more than anyone else, i still am behind in almost all aspects, especially quick reaction to last-minute changes, sight reading and sometimes even basic stuff like playing at the right bow position. just do not draw attention to oneself. i have often been asked if it was fun to do all that, and i honestly do not know an answer to that. sure, makin music is fun - indeed, the stuff we play is amazing most of the time - and i really learn a lot, still i am way too focused on not screwing things up and ruining the experience and the rehearsals/concerts for the whole orchestra. i wonder if everyone feels this way in his first year. the other academists all seem so confident and knowing about their stuff. maybe they just pretend to, but they are older and more experienced anyway. on the other hand, it is often me whe falls into breaks... what really is strange to me that janowski did not yet pick on me, he usually does with folks that fail mulitple times in a row, or sometimes even without an apparent reason. maybe i am too far behind in the seating or word has spread that i am not really worth the trouble, i don't know.

this season kicks off with the wagner marathon, and i really tried to hammer those parts into my brain, hour by hour, i made some progress, but i am nowhere near what i wanted to learn in those 30 days of holidays. rehearsals start next week, we'll see then how far i have come. this season will feature me in the second violins, and i hoped this would reduce my amout of practice for the orchestra dramaitcally, however, it did not. what the high notes are to the first violins are the fast sixteenths and # and b to the second violins. always keep the eyes open.
