me_pichi, my name is felix caffier. i was born in 1986 in berlin, the capital of germany. i started to get interested in music as a kindergarten kid and chose the violin as my primary instrument at the age of six. since 2006, i am a student at the HfM Berlin "Hanns Eisler", berlin's rewarded music conservatory.

school education

after elementary school, i attended the Georg Friedrich Händel Gymnasium in Berlin, a school that focusses on musical education. i have been the Konzertmeister of the school's orchestra for many years until i graduated. today, i still do the 1st violin sectionals every thurdsay morning as a lectureship.

i graduated and passed the exams with an average grade of 1.2 in 2006.

musical education

i got my first violin classes at the Berlin Mitte Music School by Jürgen Lampe and lessons in music theory by Sebastian Stier. in 2000, i have been admitted to the HfM Berlin "Hanns Eisler" as a youth student. after a brief time with Prof. Stefan Picard, i changed to the class of Prof Michael Vogler, where i became a regular student in 2006, after my final school exams. i received chamber music lessons by Prof Eberhard Feltz, Prof Wayne Foster-Smith and Prof Fabio Bidini, as well played in the HfM symphony orchestra conducted by Prof Christian Ehwald and Prof Manuel Nawri.

my orchestra experience includes 9 years of school orchestra, the 4 last as Konzertmeister, 3 years at the DMO (today's DSP), short time at the LJO Brandenburg, 3 years at the Konzertorchester Berlin, an orchestra that accompanies Berlin's biggest lay choir BKC (http://www.berlinerkonzertchor.de). i have also played in several smaller formations like string quartets and piano trios. in late 2009, i have received a 2-year scholarship of the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin (RSB) Academy.

i have been awarded at jugend musiziert several times, the last time 2004 Bundespreisträger with my violin. in early 2009, i surprisedly received a prize for composition, my work "Ein Bitteres Liebeslied" for five male voices based on a poem by Bertolt Brecht will be printed by a yet to be announced publishing company and i will watch the rehearsals of my piece in May 2010 in Dortmund.
